5 Summer Cocktail RecipesThe perfect summer cocktail is a must have this year as parties and small get togethers resume all over. If you are a liquor store owner it is important to keep in mind which ingredients might be in higher demand during the warmer months and keep them stocked. Here are a few summer cocktail recipes that we love.

Sangria

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe white peaches, pitted and cubed
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon juice from 1 lemon
  • 9 (3-inch) sprigs rosemary, plus more for garnish if desired
  • 3 cups dry white wine
  • 6 ounces London dry gin

Directions

  1. Combine the peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a large pitcher. Stir to combine and tuck in the sprigs of rosemary. Let sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes for the peaches to release some of their juices.
  2. Add wine and gin, stir to combine. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or up to overnight.
  3. Serve garnished with a fresh sprig of rosemary if desired.

Mojito

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 10 leaves fresh mint
  • 1 1/2 ounces white rum
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Club soda
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint, for garnish
  • 1 lime twist, for garnish

Directions

  1. Place sugar and mint leaves in a serving glass, and gently muddle just until the leaves release their oils.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Add rum and lime juice. Stir to combine.
  3. Top with club soda and add mint sprigs and lime twist for garnish.

Aperol Spritz

Ingredients

  • ice
  • 3 ounces brut Prosecco
  • 2 ounces Aperol
  • 1 ounce club soda
  • 1 lime wheel or orange wedge for garnish

Directions

  1. Fill a Collins glass or champagne flute with ice. Pour the prosecco over, then add Aperol and club soda. Garnish with a lime wheel or an orange wedge.

Classic Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 lime wedge, plus 2 lime wheels for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt, for glass rims
  • 4 ounces  high-quality blanco tequila 
  • 2 ounces Cointreau
  • 1 1/2 ounces fresh juice from 2 limes

Directions

  1. Run lime wedge around the outer rims of 2 rocks glasses and dip rims in salt. Set aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice. Fill with ice and shake until thoroughly chilled, about 15 seconds (the bottom of a metal shaker should frost over).
  3. Fill glasses with fresh ice and strain margarita into both glasses. Garnish with lime wheels and serve.

Whiskey Highball

With only two ingredients this cocktail is an easy one to make and an easy one to keep stocked:

One part whiskey

Two parts Soda water(you can also use ginger ale)

Lemon garnish if desired
