Expect The Unexpected...We're Eggspecting

UnknownHere at Quikstone Capital Solutions, we are undergoing a revitalization of our offices. We are making necessary updates and upgrades to keep our offices looking beautiful. During the revitalization of our outdoor landscaping we came across a wonderful work of nature: a mother duck, laying eggs! She was discovered while removing some shrubbery in front of the office. With her natural protection gone, we have built a temporary shelter to protect her nest and her eggs from the elements and predators. Mama duck has since been back to lay more eggs and tend to her nest. She has been affectionately named Dolly and has quickly become part of the Quikstone family.

Here are a few facts about duckling hatching:

Hatching takes about 24 hours for all of the eggs to hatch

Incubation itself takes about 28 days

Ducklings stay in the nest for about 10 hours before their mother leads them to water

- Ducklings are not waterproof upon hatching, that is something the mother duck does for them

- Baby ducks are dependent on their mothers for only 60 days before becoming fully independent and going off on their own.
