Halloween Fun For Your Small BusinessCompany culture is a hot topic in small business today and taking some time out for holiday fun is a great way to bring your team together.  Halloween presents a myriad of fun activities that can galvanize your business and improve employee morale.  Here are just a few ways to get the party started.

Potluck

Company parties can be used to promote teamwork, collaboration, communication and innovation. Something as simple as a potluck lunch could be the jumping point for your next big idea. These parties also allow employees and management to interact on a personal basis and share ideas, which encourages employee loyalty.

Decorations

Get the whole team together to participate in the decorating process. Purchase a variety of decorations and encourage your staff to bring in some of their own. Halloween decorations draw in customers and create a celebratory atmosphere around your business.

Costume Contest

Costume contests for your employees as well as your customers are a fun way to promote your business. Offer small prizes to the winners and include some kind of customer reward or future discount that encourages them to come back to your establishment.

Donations

Encouraging your employees and customers to pitch in to donate to a worthy cause will bring them together and help create a sense of community. Donations on the behalf of your company not only help those receiving the funds, it can greatly improve the reputation and visibility of your company.

Raffles

Hand out raffle tickets to employees for sales and other contributions to the excellence of your company. You’re not looking to break the bank with an expensive giveaway here, company branded merchandise and small inventory can still make a great impression.

Pumpkin Carving

Encourage your employees to bring in pumpkins and set up carving stations. Set a designated time for everyone to gather be sure you as the owner lead the charge. These events work best in conjunction with your other festivities as to not have too much employee downtime.

Trick or Treating

Provide a small budget for your employees to bring in their own candy to give out at work. Encourage them to walk around and trick or treat with their colleagues. This helps to promote communication and establish new relationships.

Scavenger Hunt

Set up a Halloween themed scavenger hunt and offer a small prize to the employee that completes it first. Better still, have your staff work in small teams to promote teamwork and camaraderie. These small exercises are fun for employees and payoff for your business in the way of productivity and loyalty.

Party Games

Everyone loves old school party games such as twister and pin the tail on the donkey and your staff will enjoy the mental break that a trip back to childhood can provide. Be sure to provide enough entertainment where everyone is able to participate.
