First of all, we want to say “Happy Veterans Day and thank you!” to veterans both past and present that have served to protect the United States! We appreciate all that you have sacrificed. Here are a few interesting facts about Veterans Day to help reflect on the day and its importance.
-Veterans Day is always celebrated on November 11th. This has changed a few times over history, but November 11th is the official day.

-Veterans Day, or previously Armistice Day, was originally celebrated in 1919 after World War 1.

- The first Veterans Day parade was held in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1947 and remains an annual tradition.

-There are about 19 million veterans in the United States today.

-Veterans day is not the same as Memorial Day. Memorial Day honors those that died serving, while veterans day honors all that have served.

-Many retailers and restaurants offer discounts and free meals to veterans on November 11th.
