July Is A Month Of Many Celebrations!

July Is A Month Of Many Celebrations!July is a great month to celebrate! July marks the midpoint of summer and is the hottest month of the year. July also brings some of the most popular holidays in many parts of the world, such as Canada Day and Independence Day in the United States. In addition to these patriotic celebrations, there are other national days to celebrate. Here are just a few of the national days celebrated in July.

Made in the USA Day

One of the main things Americans think about in July is Independence Day or the 4th of July. Independence Day is the day we celebrate when the 13 colonies of America declared their independence from Great Britain. Well, there is another "holiday" that is similar to this when Americans celebrate our independence from all countries. It is called, Made in the USA Day, and it is devoted to promoting merchandise, factory-made within the USA, and goods assembled within the USA.

National Pecan Pie Day

National Pecan Pie Day is celebrated on July 12 of every year. The day is to treat yourself and your loved ones with the smooth filling and a crunchy top sweet delight – Pecan Pie. The pecan pie is usually made with corn syrup, pecan nuts, salt, and vanilla flavoring with some variations, including sugar syrup and maple syrup or molasses. Chocolate and bourbon whisky are traditional additions in some regions of the country. Pecan pie is mainly served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

National Hot Dog Day

National Hot Dog Day is always the third Wednesday in July. Put on the dog with some history, trivia, and fantastic frankfurter recipes! Hot dogs, wieners, frankfurters, weenies, dogs, pups, red hots, sausages, brats. Whatever you call them, celebrate National Hot Dog Day, which falls on the third Wednesday in July! In 2022, it's Wednesday, July 20th.

National Day of the Cowboy

First celebrated in 2005, the National Day of the Cowboy falls annually on the fourth Saturday of July. The holiday came about thanks to a campaign spearheaded by Bethany Braley, executive director of the St. Louis, Missouri-based nonprofit organization that shares the holiday's name. It became an official designated holiday in Texas when a bill was passed through the efforts of Braley, former state Senator Jeff Wentworth, former state Representative Joe Pickett, and Sen. Donna Campbell. Gov. Greg Abbott signed it into law in June 2015.

National Take Your Pants For A Walk Day

Each July 27th, National Take Your Pants For A Walk Day ambles around again, encouraging people to get out and enjoy the fresh air. This offbeat holiday is a lighthearted reminder to stay active (or get that way).

National Talk in an Elevator Day

Bet you didn't know there was such a thing as National Talk in an Elevator Day! Well, there is, and this year it's July 29th. It takes place on the last Friday of July every year. The premise of this national holiday is simple: break the silence and strike up a conversation with a stranger on an elevator! Who knows, you could brighten someone's day or even make a new friend. Heck, you could even make a business contact that could pay off for you down the road.

Harry Potter's Birthday

How do we celebrate the birthday of someone who is entirely fictional? Pack your wand, hop on your broomstick, and join us on July 31! We are exploring the inspiration behind the magical world of Harry Potter, one of the world's most beloved characters. Author J.K. Rowling, who set this whole universe in motion with the release of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in 1997, also — if you can believe it — shares the same birthday as Harry himself. Coincidence? If you want to celebrate in style, check out our gift guide for Harry Potter fans.
