Quikstone Cares: The SPCA And Humane Society Of Tampa BayAnimal welfare organizations feel the pressure of the pandemic.

Many of the staff members of Quikstone Capital are devoted, animal lovers. They donate their time and money to local organizations and shelters. Two of these non-profit organizations are the SPCA and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Animal welfare organizations have been hard hit by the pandemic. On the one hand, many shelters have experienced record adoptions, but unfortunately, at the same time, they have reported a record number of animals going into foster care.

SPCA Of Tampa Bay

The SPCA Tampa Bay has cared for Pinellas County’s homeless pets for more than 80 years. Its shelter in Largo cares for more than 9,500 animals annually that have been surrendered by their owners.

There is no time limit for an animal’s stay at the shelter, and every animal receives medical care, behavior training, enrichment, and compassionate care, regardless of its breed or size.

On November 12, Tampa Bay's SPCA will hold a fundraising event to support the shelter and the veterinary center. To help, you can call, donate online, or mail in a contribution.

Humane Society Of Tampa Bay

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is dedicated to ending animal homelessness and providing care and comfort to companion animals in need. The stories of abuse and neglect on their website are heartbreaking, but thanks to the staff and volunteers, there are also many happy endings as the pets are treated and adopted into their forever homes.

A critical program of the Humane Society is its food distribution service. Pet owners who are struggling financially can pick up food at the shelter every Tuesday and Saturday. For homebound and elderly residents who cannot visit the shelter, volunteers deliver monthly supplies of dog and cat food.

Everyone is encouraged to support the Humane Society of Tampa Bay's work by donating time, money, or dog and cat food.

If you're an animal lover, check out your local shelter for upcoming events and fundraising activities. Many have holiday pet activities designed to increase awareness and can be a lot of fun for you and your pet!
