Reasons To Shop Small Business Year RoundRather than looking to a large chain for your needs, consider shopping at a small business the next time you head out. While the convenience of a one stop shop is appealing, you can fulfill your needs and have a lasting impact on your community by shopping small. Here we take a look at several compelling reason to support your local small businesses.

Creation Of Jobs

As more and more small businesses pop-up in your community, be sure to take advantage of what you do not directly see, the jobs. As your support directly funds these positions and encourages more businesses to start-up or expand. You never know, maybe one day you too will be inspired to start your own company.

Great Customer Service

Small businesses usually mean they are trying to build their reputation, and with that, they take pride in their work. We have all been on hold for hours with a major company and never felt like a priority. But that's usually the opposite with small businesses. Ensuring customers are happy is a top priority, not to mention helps build a strong community relationship.

Helping Friends

Indirectly you may not know that a close friend is helping these small businesses out or even running one themselves. Nothing gives an area a sense of purpose and feeling of community, like pulling together to help support one another. Not to mention there is something special about walking into a business where you know the owner, and you feel at home knowing you are not going to be upsold on the "next big thing" because corporate is asking them to.

Local Owners Buying Local

These owners have more than likely employed local businesses themselves to get them up and running. When these small businesses get up and running, they look to other small businesses that have been successful and seek guidance on how they did it. This, in turn, builds upon itself over time whether they want to expand or make upgrades to their facilities.

The Sense Of Giving

With so many small businesses having deep roots in the community the more your shop with them the more it produces around them. So, in a sense the more you shop the small shops around you the better and more connections are made and your ties to the community start to evolve into a sense of purpose and responsibility to one another.
