Summer Salon Trends

Summer Salon TrendsIt's always fun to see a summer of new trends, and this summer has not disappointed. Many people are trying new (and old) things out with their hair this summer, keeping salons busy, and keeping customers looking their best. Here are a few of this year's trendy services:

Blowout Bar

A blowout bar is a great way to add fast and easy revenue to your salon. A lot of people love the "just left the salon" look without having to go full send on a cut or color. A blowout bar consists of just a wash, style, and dry. It is fun for women to pamper themselves and get a few days of great hair without spending a lot of time or money.

Mullets

Business in the front, party in the back. With the popularity of mullets making a comeback, expect this trend to continue to grow for many years. Cutting and styling a mullet goes beyond just short on top and long in the back. There are different kinds of mullets and other ways to style them. The popularity of mullets is also bringing back the popularity of perms because who doesn't love a curly mullet?

Bangs

Bangs are back, for better or worse! You will probably be cutting a lot of bangs this summer and even fixing a few at-home hack jobs, thanks to an internet trend. A few popular types of bangs are:

  • Blunt bangs
  • Curtain bangs
  • Side swept bangs
  • Layered bangs

70s Cut

Large feathered hair and shaggy cuts are making a big comeback this year, and we are here for it. Cutting and styling with other decades in mind will make you the spot to go to get an amazing vintage look. Once you master the Farrah Faucet flip, you're in.

Bright Colors

Colorful locks are sweeping the world this summer. Fun and bright colors are going to be in high demand for teenagers and young adults. If you aren't used to using bright colors, it might be time to take a workshop and buy some inventory so you are ready for the fun customers you may see this summer.

Color Corrections

Coming off of a year of being at home and customers doing their hair themselves, color corrections are going to be rampant, probably for a while. While Brad Mondo tried to do damage control via the internet, there are bound to be several clients coming in to fix at-home mistakes. You should make sure you have extra time and the products set aside for these rehab cases.
